The old forests do not die quietly. They send someone like him.
Noranor stands at the edge of the world's memory—robed in layered travelling cloth worn thin at the hems, armoured shoulders carved with chainwork, and a belt hung with pouches that hold remedies no living healer could name. A skull-mounted headdress crowns him, its two curved horns speaking of something ancient killed and carried as tribute or warning. His staff is no mere walking stick: gnarled bone-pale wood rises into a carved bird of prey—wings spread, talons gripping the wood as if caught mid-stoop—its presence suggesting less a tool than a bound spirit compelled to serve. Wrapped forearms. Travel-stained wrappings at the shins. A satchel pressed against one hip, a tome at the other. He stands not in battle readiness but in the stillness of a man who has already decided the outcome. Dead trees curl at his feet on a richly detailed scenic base—bark-textured roots, scattered ground flora, and weathered stumps that root the scene firmly in the deep wild places where civilisation does not reach.
Noranor is a natural fit for any tabletop roleplaying campaign that needs a druid presence with moral weight. As a player character, he reads immediately as a seasoned class identity: Circle of Spores, Circle of Stars, or a homebrew tradition built on death-touch naturalism all find a visual home here. As an NPC, he becomes something more dangerous—the last voice of a dying forest, a gatekeeper to ancient groves, an archdruid whose allegiances are older than any kingdom at the table. DMs running wilderness arcs, fey-adjacent campaigns, or nature-horror encounters will find this miniature earns its place at the table before a single die is rolled.
- The party enters the deadwood at dusk—they find him already there, standing in silence, as if he knew they were coming days before they did.
- A village's crops are rotting from the roots up. The only lead points to a wandering figure with a bird-topped staff last seen at the forest's edge.
- He offers the party a bargain: retrieve a stolen seed from a corrupted temple, and he will open the path through the grove. He does not explain what the seed grows into.
- In the final act of the wilderness arc, the players realise he has been the forest's last conscious voice all along—and it is fading.
