The frontier does not forget its soldiers. And some soldiers do not forget the frontier — even when they have left it far behind.
Designed by DM Stash, this Death Paladin miniature captures a warrior at the crossroads of duty and doubt. Corsicus is rendered mid-stride, the weight of a thousand patrols still visible in the set of his shoulders — one arm raised and clutching a grinning skull aloft like a lantern or a warning, the other dragging a long, ornate blade whose tip barely clears the shattered stone beneath his boots. His armour is layered and battered, pauldrons shaped like rending scales, a billowing cloak of dragon-scale texture trailing behind him as though the wind of war still follows at his heels. A skull-tipped staff rests in his weapon hand alongside the sword, hinting at power that blurs the line between martial and arcane. He wears the face of a man who has seen the machines of Alimroth up close — and lived to carry that memory southward, away from the ash and blood of the borderlands, in search of something his lance could not win.
In your tabletop RPG campaign, Corsicus works beautifully as a player character — a Paladin, Eldritch Knight, or Hexblade fresh from a long war, seeking purpose beyond the battlefield. For Dungeon Masters, he is equally compelling as a morally complex NPC: a decorated soldier whose idealism has been worn thin by years of mercenary governance and retreating kings. Place him in a tavern, a ruin, or a foreign court, and let your players decide whether he's ally, foil, or something richer still.
-The party hears rumours of a knight travelling alone, asking too many questions in the wrong cities — when they finally meet him, he's already three steps ahead of them.
-He does not attack. He intercepts. Your players round a corner into a collapsed courtyard and find him waiting — not for them, but for what's following them.
-A lord's herald arrives mid-session with a warrant: this knight is considered a deserter. He has a very different account of events.
-The treasure vault he seeks is the same one your players have been hired to retrieve an artefact from. Neither party knew the other was coming.
